the private rooms at Yen are gorgeous and the views can definitely rival 101. though i'm ambivalent about the western serving style.. some people don't like certain things and if they don't finish it, it's kind of wasteful. it's not a big deal if it's family (you can steal your dad or grandma's noodles) but more awkward if it's business or friends

And I'm so glad for your that Taipei (finally) cleared up! My cousin and I always say that the sun doesn't shine in Taipei except in a smoggy way....

I suppose I could like it if it was the only thing we were eating. Usually the fish arrives after there are like 10 different other dishes on the table, and it's difficult to enjoy something when you're already full or would rather eat something else. It just used to always seem like a chore to eat when I was little.

Curious why you don't like steamed fish? Just like your father, I am a fan. Provided the fish is fresh of course. So simple and so satisfying - especially over white rice.
